From May 26 to 29, 2025, the 34th China International Glass Industry Technology Exhibition grandly opened at the New China Expo Center in Shunyi, Beijing. As an innovative enterprise in China's glass industry, SYP Glass Group (Booth E2-131) themed its display “Innovation Creates the Future,” comprehensively presenting its strategic layout and technological breakthroughs in energy-saving and energy-generating glass products. This showcased a clear path for the industry's green transformation.
I.Solar TCO Conductive Glass: The main material for thin-film photovoltaics
As the core substrate for perovskite/cadmium telluride thin-film batteries, SYP's solar TCO conductive glass not only possesses excellent properties such as high light transmittance and good electrical conductivity, but also achieves a perfect balance between power generation efficiency and architectural aesthetics through dynamic haze regulation to meet the light absorption requirements of different batteries. It has become an irreplaceable main material for BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) curtain walls. The 3.2mm TCO glass displayed this time is a transparent conductive coated glass produced by the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method. It is a low-carbon product that saves energy and generates power, and is widely used in the consumer market of BIPV/BAPV (Building Applied Photovoltaics) photovoltaic building integration and intelligent photovoltaic modules. According to Mr. Yang, the General Manager of Float Strategic Product Sales, in order to meet the different needs of customers, SYP can provide solar TCO conductive glass as thin as 1.8mm.
II. Ultra-Low Energy Consumption Glass: A Benchmark for Building Carbon Reduction
SYP's ultra-low energy consumption glass, characterized by high light transmittance, high shading coefficient, and a low U-value, is designed to meet nearly zero energy building standards and provides strong support for the green transformation of the construction industry. In addition to displaying conventional ultra-low energy consumption glass, ultra-low energy consumption residential borosilicate fire-resistant glass, and ultra-low energy consumption residential photochromic louver glass, SYP also showcased its gradient-coated ultra-low energy consumption insulating glass, which recently won the "North Star Architecture Supreme Award." Utilizing nanoscale multi-layer gradient coating technology, this glass achieves a thermal transmittance coefficient as low as 0.68 W/(m²·K), with an energy-saving efficiency 30% higher than that of conventional products. It effectively reduces the heating and cooling energy consumption of buildings and has been successfully applied in the Guangzhou Science and Finance Center project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, providing empirical evidence for achieving the "nearly zero energy" building goal.
III. BIPV Power-Generating Glass: The Qualitative Leap from Energy Consumption to Energy Production in Buildings
As a popular low-carbon aesthetic product in recent years, BIPV power-generating glass was showcased at this exhibition in various specifications and colors. We exhibited a range of BIPV products, including the extra-large size BIPV used at the Huinan Headquarters in Xiong'an, fan-shaped BIPV that breaks away from conventional shapes, and SGP laminated BIPV and curved BIPV power-generating glass, which are only produced by SYP. SYP's BIPV power-generating glass can dynamically optimize natural light and power generation efficiency, adapting to complex scenarios such as curved curtain walls. It achieves a win-win result between architectural aesthetics and power generation efficiency, and has received great affection and high praise from customers at the exhibition.
IV. Automotive Smart Dimmable Glass: The “Wise Eyes” for Mobile Spaces
Extending its energy-saving technologies from the building sector to the transportation field, SYP has introduced automotive smart dimmable glass. At this exhibition, we showcased three different technical routes for dimmable glass. Relying on SYP's strong coating capabilities, we have established an integrated chain of “raw glass - coating - deep processing” with full control over the entire process. This enables intelligent regulation and management of visible light, infrared, and ultraviolet rays. It perfectly meets the diverse needs of new energy vehicles for low energy consumption, high efficiency, and intelligent control, while also enhancing driving comfort and privacy. The interactive area at the exhibition attracted the attention of overseas customers, who experienced the smart technologies of “zonal frosting,” “instant dimming,” and “infinitely variable” features on-site.
As TCO glass illuminates the future of thin-film photovoltaics, ultra-low energy consumption glass reshapes the architectural envelope, BIPV modules become urban power generators, and smart dimmable glass redefines mobile spaces—SYP is evolving glass from a functional material into a neuron of a zero-carbon ecosystem from the three-dimensional perspective of “energy-saving + energy-generating + intelligent.” Just as its booth theme reveals, the answer to “Innovation Creates the Future” is that each technological innovation is deeply rooted in the soil, and every product blooms like a flower, creating a new scenario where energy-saving, energy-generating, and intelligent features converge for a green future.
