Shanghai, 2026 — The 35th China International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition has concluded with resounding success. At the SYP Glass Group booth, distinguished by its signature blue-and-white design and clearly articulated upstream-to-downstream integration strategy, our team engaged with a steady stream of professional visitors from the architecture, automotive, and new energy sectors. Through intensive exchanges and in-depth discussions, one industry consensus emerged with absolute clarity: the trajectory of glass manufacturing is irreversibly advancing toward intelligence, sustainability, and integration. This is not merely a trend—it is an urgent industrial imperative that demands immediate, tangible action.
At this year's exhibition, SYP Glass Group responded to this imperative with a comprehensive portfolio of products and technological achievements grounded in real-world application. At the core of our response lies a single principle: integration—unlocking the boundless potential of materials through convergence.
The Art of Integrated Innovation
SYP's approach to innovation is rooted in a distinctive philosophy of technical synthesis. As China Building Materials magazine has noted, our strength lies in "drawing from the best and integrating technologies." Our Dalian production facility stands as a rare symbol of convergence in global glass manufacturing history—successfully assimilating and internalizing online coating and manufacturing technologies from four of the world's most advanced glass producers: Pilkington (UK), PPG (USA), NSG and AGC (Japan). The result is a uniquely unified and proprietary capability that we have made entirely our own.
It is this upstream-to-downstream integration capability, centered on online coating technology, that enabled SYP to translate the industry imperatives of greening, intelligence, and integration into concrete possibilities across solar energy, automotive, architectural, and industrial applications at this year's exhibition.
Possibility One: Green Energy Integration — From Energy Consumer to Energy Producer
Online coating technology is the key to endowing glass with green vitality. In the solar new energy sector, SYP's core competitive advantage is unmistakable: we are the undisputed leader in high-performance TCO (Transparent Conductive Oxide) glass in China. Our thin-film solar substrate glass serves as the indispensable "chip" for next-generation thin-film photovoltaic technologies, including cadmium telluride (CdTe) and perovskite cells.
The centerpiece of our exhibition—thin-film photovoltaic glass modules—derives its exceptional performance directly from this technological foundation. Consider the evidence: the record-breaking 18.11% conversion efficiency achieved by CNBM (Kaisheng) for CdTe modules; the 22% efficiency record set by Renshine Solar for commercial perovskite modules at square-meter scale; and the four world records in perovskite PV achieved by BOE in transitioning from laboratory-scale research to large-area industrial production. The high-performance substrates powering all these breakthroughs originate from SYP.
This is no coincidence. Our Kunpeng GreenCore TCO conductive glass, distinguished by its exceptional visible light transmittance, precisely tunable sheet resistance, and outstanding stability, has become the common foundational platform for thin-film solar technology advancement. We do not merely supply glass—we serve as the cornerstone supplier enabling the entire thin-film photovoltaic industry to scale new heights of efficiency. Glass thus transforms from an energy-consuming "skin" of buildings into a core functional layer empowering the green energy revolution.

When visitors paused before our curved glass capable of an internal bend radius of 1,000mm, they beheld more than a CIIF award-winning self-cleaning BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) glass. They witnessed the boundless integration of photovoltaics, building materials, and complex curved aesthetics. This internally-bent BIPV glass, together with our Kunpeng EverClean self-cleaning glass, forms a comprehensive Building Energy Envelope System. And none of this would be possible without the robust support provided by SYP's high-performance substrate materials for downstream deep processing and system integration. Here, sustainability ceases to be a cost—it becomes an asset. Glass is no longer a building's energy weakness, but an active "green lung" that inhales sunlight and exhales clean electricity.
Possibility Two: Intelligent Integration of Sensing and Protection — From Environmental Response to Health Guardian, Glass as the Smart Skin of Space
Intelligence is not merely about remote control. When visitors touched our electrochromic glass and watched it transition gracefully between transparent and frosted states, they experienced a material responding instantaneously to light and privacy requirements. This is not just intelligence—it is the seamless integration of comfort, energy efficiency, and privacy.
In the automotive glass zone, our high-transmittance, low-reflectance Low-E glass demonstrated another form of integration: achieving an exquisite balance between extreme thermal insulation (critical for electric vehicle range optimization) and ultra-high light transmittance (essential for autonomous driving sensor accuracy)—a pair of traditionally conflicting requirements resolved on a single pane.

Yet the evolution of intelligence extends beyond the physical into the realm of health. Our Kunpeng HealthShield antibacterial and formaldehyde-decomposing glass employs online coating technology to create a unique "intelligent" catalytic layer on the glass surface. It actively and continuously decomposes formaldehyde in indoor air while effectively inhibiting bacterial growth—functioning as a 24/7 silent "health lung" for architectural spaces. This marks an evolution in glass intelligence from merely perceiving and regulating physical environments (light, heat) to actively monitoring and purifying the health environment.
Possibility Three: Integration as the Fundamental Path to Value Creation — From Technical Consolidation to Ecosystem Building
Every remarkable product possibility on display is grounded in SYP's strategic logic of vertical integration and open innovation. We exhibited not merely end products, but the distillation of this integrated innovation capability: from our online coating process that integrates global technologies to produce ultra-wide 3,660mm TCO glass panels; to our Kunpeng series of online coating technologies that confer multiple functionalities including self-cleaning, energy efficiency, and health protection (such as Kunpeng EverClean self-cleaning glass and Kunpeng HealthShield antibacterial glass); and through to the diverse application scenarios for these glasses.
SYP does not pursue excellence in isolation at a single point in the value chain. Instead, we are committed to mastering the initiative to "define scenarios and value" across the entire upstream-to-downstream chain—from substrate to application.

The Future of Glass: A Conversation Just Beginning
The conclusion of the exhibition marks the true beginning of the dialogue. What else can glass become?
We recognize with absolute clarity that future competition will be a competition of integration capability—the ability to systematically, reliably, and elegantly synthesize green, intelligent, healthy, and aesthetic values into materials, and to deliver validated, holistic solutions. This demands not only forward-thinking vision but also profound capabilities in technical assimilation, integration, and reinvention.
As SYP Glass Group Chairman Yin Jun stated at the new product launch, the company remains committed to "building a new quality productive forces system centered on technological innovation and green manufacturing, injecting new momentum into the green transformation and high-quality development of China's glass industry." SYP firmly believes that the best answers always emerge from collaborative problem-solving. We stand ready to empower bold, forward-looking visions with our practice of forging new quality productive forces in the glass industry—joining hands with every partner to embark on a journey toward new value.
